Nobody ever drowned in his own sweat.
Big Thicket Brangus was founded in 1953 by Virgil Myers and MaryAnna Myers. It was then handed down to their son, Ricky D. Myers DVM, in 1976. He then opened Trinity Animal Hospital, located in Liberty, in 1978.

It's a small ranch of 140 owned acres and 1000 leased acres. It has ran commercial cows and a few grade ranch horses through the early 1980s, afterwards began running registered Brangus. Big Thicket Brangus has won countless awards for their Brangus, which still are commercially sold today.

In 2008, Ricky and Melissa Myers purchased the first AQHA horses and is now participating in Louisianna stock horse association.

Due to the recent drought, the ranch has begun to establish a small irrigation system. The thousand acre lease is used for deer hunting, recreational purposes, and the training of  horses for reining, cow working, and pleasure.

A cowboy will watch the sunrise and sunset, because it is a perfect work of art from the man upstairs.
